The world that I created on Unity was a small remote 3D island. My goal was to combine a world where there was exploration and an open world. I would say that I put some of my creativity and effort into this project, especially for a website that I never used before. I thought that Unity had a lot of cool tools and textures that made my project feel more realistic and unique. My island features dense plantations, rocky coves, ponds, and just a very forest-like vibe. One of my key design choices was to include the right skybox. Every skybox would give my island different elements and I felt like the skybox that I chose gave my island a very underwater-tropical atmosphere. I also added a specific blue lighting that really gave everything a nice blue/green undertone, which was exactly what I was going for. To bring this island to life, I used a combination of lighting and graphic designs. For example, I felt like having the pond moving and the grass swaying, really filled my world with visibility and movement. I also added small little details such as a hidden treasure chest, underwater crystals, and small sea creatures. I felt like these small hidden details are super fun and exciting for exploration. The separation between the crystal cove and earthy tropical area is very interesting to me because it’s like two worlds colliding. They’re separated by a wooden bridge where you can cross to both sides. My island is not complex at all, because it’s a circular island, and you can see everything just by looking around. Creating this 3D world was really fun and taught me a lot of new designs, and I hope I get the chance to do another project that is similar to this.
