A downloadable game for Windows

The world I created shows an underground scene of a cave. You walk through the cave as an explorer of sorts, able to roam free in the cavern while remaining bound by the cave. I wanted to create something like this, where despite the closed area, you can explore the place to its full extent, with no limitations apart from the world itself. I chose to make it a cave because I could clearly define boundaries with rocks serving as the cave’s walls. I chose to use stalactites and stalagmites to add more to the cave than just the rocky walls of the cave. By using multiple rock textures, I was able to create a more visually pleasing image for the cave. I wanted to give the world a feeling that is mostly calm, but differ from other places that would also be calm. Rather than using more simplified objects, I chose to use more detailed ones to provide a more realistic and immersive experience for the player. While I was able to make the player move at any speed, I chose a slower one so that it is easier to constantly take in the surroundings as the player moves through the caves, not too fast to make sure that the cave doesn’t just feel like a box in which you are trapped. Similarly, the player cannot jump high to ensure that they go through the cave the way it was intended so that they get the full experience. The end of the cave includes more than just the rocks, stalactites, and stalagmites, it also includes some crystals. This adds a sense of completion once the cave has been explored and the end has been reached. This allows for the player to see more and more as they progress further into the cave.
