A downloadable game for Windows

This is my first-time using Unity, a powerful game engine. In my game called <<rival>>, I boldly tried to integrate glacier elements into normal terrain, which was inspired by the animated film “ICE AGE”. In the film, the icebergs gradually melted due to global warming. Inspired by this setting, I juxtaposed glaciers and grasslands to form a unique visual conflict and symbolic meaning of climate warning. In terms of the picture style, I referred to one of my favorite games, the “Totally Accurate Battle Simulator (TABS). This low-poly, polygonal style made me feel very interesting, and it was also easier for a beginner like me to operate and express my essential ideas. In my game, I built a village located in the valley surrounded by ice glaciers and houses, farmland, sheepfolds, and neatly arranged soldiers and artillery, creating a tense atmosphere of an upcoming battle. There were troops from the other valley approaching this valley for money, and as a protector (the player), the intended plot was to protect the village with your best ability, telling what our troop should do by applying different strategic choices (e.g., what weapon they should use). When I first came into contact with Unity, I was a complete novice with zero foundation. I had never used 3D editing software, and I didn’t expect that I could build a virtual world that could work and interact. I encountered many challenges during the production process, such as how to place objects, adjust light, set terrain, etc. But in the process of continuous attempts and research, I gradually mastered some basic skills and gained a preliminary understanding and interest in this software. Although I have completed a preliminary world, there are still some regrets. For example, I originally wanted to make the grass sway with the wind, make the light and shadow more natural and realistic, and create a stronger sense of immersion, but due to limited time and insufficient knowledge, I have not been able to realize these details for the time being. However, these attempts have ignited my passion for virtual world design. I look forward to learning Unity in depth in the future, truly realizing more ideas and stories in my heart, and creating a richer and more vibrant 3D world.
