Tashu Sen
A downloadable game for Windows
This is the first 3D world and first game I have ever made. I made a really creepy world. I initially was inspired by a world in Kingdom Hearts II that the main cast would visit later in the game, called “The World That Never Was.” I remember the first time playing it I thought the vibe of the world was super cool and I wanted to create something similar. I wanted to have the same eerie feel as the world, dark with a little bit of neon in it, like a city but creepier. I added lots of dark buildings in an overall dark world. I had some of them tilted at different angles since I thought my world would be creepier that way. I also added street lamps on the sidewalk that weren't turned on. I also wanted that city look so I added neon green lamps to the buildings. Additionally, as a contrast I added a neon pink shader to the clouds I added because I thought green and pink would look good together. As creepy as it was, it was still pretty empty, so I added a row of cars to my world to fill in some space, but even then I thought it was still too empty. That's when I had the great idea to get rid of the slightly creepy feel of my world and just make it straight up horror game level scary. I found and placed scary Mickey Mouse models in my world (credit: "Mortimer" by VioletQueen on Sketchfab). I placed one on the corner turn, one on a lamppost, one on the roof, and a gigantic one standing there just as the player turned the corner. Finally I added a vignette, grain, and a chromatic aberration effect to my world to add on to the overall creepiness. Overall, I would say my final world captures my idea well.
